Far Cry 5 was recently revealed very subtly via a forum post and financial earnings report by a Ubisoft community manager. More fuel has been added to the fire now with multiple teaser trailers from the studio. All they show are some rural land, a mountainous river, and a desolate church before it says “Welcome to Hope County, Montana.” There’s a bit of Far Cry violence in the church and other shots, if you pay close attention.
But anyway, we know Far Cry 5 will be taking place in Montana, and that a full reveal will be happening this Friday May 26. This is all that has been officially released by Ubisoft thus far. However, a Reddit user has revealed some further details from a supposed focus group they participated in. Apparently Far Cry 5 will be focused around a cult group that is prepping for some sort of Doomsday.
This Reddit revealed information is a year old, so take it with a grain of salt. Many things could have changed on the game’s development in a year. It isn’t that far-fetched for a Far Cry game though, so chances are we’ll be seeing crazy cults in Montana this Friday. Keep an eye out for that full reveal trailer!
