Titanfall 2 Getting New Free DLC

Titanfall 2 Getting New Free DLC

Towards the end of the month, Titanfall 2 is seeing a healthy helping of support in the form of some free DLC. This month’s update not only comes with a new map, but a whole new Titan as well. This is great news for anyone still playing!

The new Titan is called Monarch and is described by developer Respawn as a “mid-range Vanguard-class” mech. It has an “Upgrade Core,” which lets players choose various upgrades for the unit over time. If the Monarch lasts long enough, it can be fully upgraded and “assume its final form.” Respawn didn’t provide full details, but did say the Monarch has the “ability to draw power from the enemy Titans to recharge her own shields or the shields of her friendly Titans.”

The new map is called Relic and is a worksite built at the crash site of the Odyssey, which was an IMC carrier from the Titanfall 2 story mode. Respawn said, “Created with frontlines in mind, the gameplay is all about assaulting and controlling the center and engaging in firefights from the great viewpoints of the ship against the varied defensible positions in the town.” Crashsite, a map that was already in the game, is also receiving some bug fixes as well as some new bells and whistles. A new execution is also coming as part of the free update, called Now You See Me. Players will also see new paid content, in new Prime Titan designs for Ronin and Tone.

This update will go live on May 30. At the same time, Titan Brawl will be the “featured mode,” and every other mode will have double XP for a limited time. Respawn also has plans for a large balancing update sometime later on.
