Gwent Officially in Public Beta

Gwent has opened today on PlayStation 4 for Public Beta. You can download it free to your console at any moment today and begin playing. The cards in the game are all characters and enemies from the regular Witcher games, so there’s plenty there for fans to enjoy. Those who have not played The Witcher series will still be able to enjoy Gwent as a standalone game, but will not have the same nostalgic reaction.

CD Projekt Red hasn’t just released this game to then wash their hands of it. They have some major plans for the game now that it is released. Sometime in the future single player campaigns will be introduced into Gwent . Apparently the same team that made The Witcher 3 will work on these campaigns which will add hours of story to the game.

If you haven’t heard of Gwent somehow by now, allow me to provide you with a refresher. The game’s origins are a mini-game in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt . You could be invited to play Gwent by characters you met throughout the game. Since then, CD Projekt Red has taken fan’s requests seriously and worked super hard on a standalone version of the card game.

Head over to your PS4 now to start downloading Gwent , and get those decks ready for play!
