Monster Hunter XX Coming to Nintendo Switch

Monster Hunter XX Coming to Nintendo Switch

Capcom has announced the official Nintendo Switch Monster Hunter debut. Monster Hunter XX will be making its way to Nintendo’s new platform. The when and where has yet to be determined, however. In Japan, the Monster Hunter Championship event is taking place this weekend. Speculation suggests this announcement was made in front of the event to lead into further details coming out of it.

This could be interesting for western Monster Hunter fans. Monster Hunter XX is an enhanced version of Monster Hunter Generations , which came out here in July 2016, roughly eight months after the Japanese version.

Monster Hunter XX , either the Switch or previously announced 3DS version, does not yet have a release date in any territory. It will be interesting to see if Capcom USA brings both versions over, or just focuses on one. Monster Hunter games typically get localized, but generally several months after the fact and without a ton of fanfare. Multiple SKUs may be unlikely.

That said, Monster Hunter Stories recently got a surprise announcement a couple Nintendo Directs ago, so anything can happen. E3 is very soon, so we will all find out what’s in store next for Monster Hunter in the west.
