Mass Effect: Andromeda Patch Lets Men Romance Jaal

Mass Effect: Andromeda Patch Lets Men Romance Jaal

Bioware is preparing to launch a new patch for the troubled Mass Effect: Andromeda , which will bring the game to version 1.08. Included in the patch are various adjustments to balance in both single and multiplayer, and additional customization options for the player’s appearance. Finally, a brand-new male romance option will be added to the Scott Ryder side of the story.

Previously in Mass Effect: Andromeda , Scott Ryder did not have a romance option with any of the male squadmates, only side-characters. Not only that, but Scott Ryder could not get the multiple romance achievement with all-male characters. To better achieve the game’s goal of inclusivity, Bioware is adding Jaal, one of the non-human squadmates, to Scott Ryder’s romance options. In the blog post about the patch, Bioware insists it met with many internal and external consultants in the LGBTQ community, so as to ensure believability and authenticity in the characters’ story arc.

In addition to the romance option, the other major update is a bunch of new content in character customization. New heads, complexion options, skin tones and hair styles are now available. Players in the middle of their games will also have the option to change their appearance with a new option available on the Tempest.
