Pokemon Go Turns One with Solstice Event and Party

Pokemon Go Turns One with Solstice Event and Party

Boy, have we got Pokemon Go news for you. The intensely popular mobile Wait. Is that a Ninetails? Sorry, couldn’t let that one get away. Where was I? Oh yes, the intensely popular mobile game is finally nearing its first birthday. Developer Niantic wants to celebrate in style, so they’re setting up all kinds of events to get everyone in on the party.

To start with, there are going to be all sorts of real-life events for the anniversary. Chicago’s Grant Park will be hosting the Pokemon Go Fest on July 22. The event will include Pokemon- themed activities for all those who attend to participate in, with tickets becoming available on June 19. Unibail-Rodamco shopping centers will have multiple different events throughout Europe between June and September, so watch out for those if you are based in Europe! There will also be a celebration in Yokohama, Japan, called the “Pikachu Outbreak.” If there’s anyone that knows how to party, it’s Japan, so this is sure to be an event to remember.

Within the game, Pokemon Go will be celebrating with what is being called the Solstice Event. Between June 13 and June 20,  you will have a much higher chance of catching fire and ice type Pokemon. Extra XP will be given for Curveballs, Nice Throws, Excellent Throws, and more. Finally, Lucky Eggs will be 50% off during the event.

I only recently had the opportunity to start playing Pokemon Go (dang old phones), so you can be sure I’ll be partying Pokemon style! What about you?
