E3 2017: Destiny 2 Console Launch Date Moved

Be sure to check out our E3 hub for 2017 all week long to get the latest gaming news, previews and announcements right from the convention floor!

Blizzard and Activision have been incredibly excited about one of their games lately. So much so that they’ve actually moved up the release date for it. We’re talking about Destiny 2 , and it’s currently being developed for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC release.

The console versions of Destiny 2 , on PS4 and Xbox One, will be coming earlier than originally planned on September 6! The PC version of the game will launch in its entirety on October 24 and can currently be pre-ordered.

There will be beta periods for every single platform available. Those who pre-order the game will get first access. That pre-order beta on PS4 starts July 18 at 10am PT, while the Xbox pre-order beta starts on July 19 at 10am PT. The open beta for PS4 and Xbox One consoles will start July 21 at 10am PT and will close at 9pm PT on July 23. There is no set date for the PC beta yet outside of late August, but we’ve been promised more news soon.

Destiny 2 will be $59.99 at release for just the game, $89.99 for the game and Expansion Pass, and $99.99 for either the Digital Deluxe Edition or Limited Edition. There will also be a Destiny 2 Collector’s Edition for $249.99 that will have a wearable Frontier Bag, the Expansion Pass, premium digital content and a Cabal-themed collectible box.

Destiny 2 will be at E3 this week in varying capacities. Attendees will have the chance to play the game, check out the new subclass (Arcstrider Hunter), and get an introduction to the new villain Dominus Ghaul.
