PayPal Reveals Steam Summer Sale Date

PayPal Reveals Steam Summer Sale Date

While Valve has been quiet about the annual Steam Summer Sale, apparently it’s happening tomorrow. This comes from PayPal of all places, which has revealed the date (perhaps ahead of schedule) in order to advertise a Steam Summer Sale promotion.

The word came from PayPal’s UK Twitter account. According to the Tweet , the Steam Summer Sale is launching tomorrow, June 22, at 6 PM BT (10 AM PT/1 PM ET). Date and time – not bad for a non-Valve announcement. The promotion, for those it applies to, nets savings of £5 for spending £20 on Steam during the sale using PayPal. No word on if a similar deal is available for PayPal users outside of the UK.

This promotion is set to last until July 5, which is more than likely a hint at the duration of the Steam Summer Sale itself. According to GameSpot, this date range was also making the rounds earlier in the year in places like Reddit. Gamespot also suggests that Valve has abandoned its more colorful and gimmicky Steam Summer Sale projects, and yet another more straightforward sale should be expected.
