Team Fortress 2 Getting Some Major Buffs and Buffs

Team Fortress 2 Getting Some Major Buffs and Buffs

As far as online games go, and even more so as far as free to play games are concerned, Team Fortress 2 has had an incredibly long life span. The game was originally released in 2007 and went to a free to play model in 2011. If you can believe it, ten years later, Team Fortress 2 is still getting updates. Generally, Valve has created blog posts after updates go live to let users know what they should expect. This time around though, the developer and publisher has decided to publish their potential changes before the fact.

This is in an attempt to include the community in the decision making process. It seems Team Fortress 2 is attempting to make changes based on what fans want, and so they are looking for feedback as the changes are still being implemented into the game. This way, when they go live, they’ll have already been altered based on user preference rather than waiting until after.

Some of the biggest changes they’re looking to make this time around in Team Fortress 2 are nerfs and buffs to the various characters. This is also true of some of the weapons in the game. For example, the Panic Attack is getting a few changes to take it from the least used weapon in the game to hopefully something people enjoy more. They’re also nerfing certain abilities in the Spy, Scout, and Soldier classes. Hopefully the Sniper will no longer always have to use their Danger Shield. Probably the most interesting addition is the ability to harvest organs with the Medic’s Vita-Saw. Organ harvesting will control the Ubercharge ability.

What do you think of Team Fortress 2 ‘s attempt to include fans in the development process? Do you like the changes you see? Will this bring you back to Team Fortress 2 or have you never left? Let us know!
