Nintendo Announces Kirby’s Blowout Blast Release Date

Nintendo Announces Kirby’s Blowout Blast Release Date

The next Kirby game, a 3DS eShop-exclusive spinoff called Kirby’s Blowout Blast , has a release date for this summer. The game, which is a part of Nintendo’s multi-release 25th anniversary celebration for Kirby , is more of an arcade-style experience. It’s in a similar vein to previous eShop Kirby games, this time a more fleshed out version of a minigame included in Kirby: Planet Robobot .

Nintendo shot out a tweet this morning confirming Kirby’s Blowout Blast will debut next week on July 6. While Kirby’s Blowout Blast is a platformer, it abandons Kirby’s trademark copy ability in favor of a gimmick mechanic based on the pink puffball’s inhalation prowess. The more enemies Kirby inhales at once, the more powerful his blast is once he spits it all out.

Kirby’s Blowout Blast will have over 25 levels, and players can challenge themselves to get medals based on their high scores. Players will be able to unlock bonus EX stages along the way, and Kirby amiibo figures will also be incorporated.
