Before, the TV & Video application on the PlayStation 4 dashboard was just a somewhat cumbersome way to get to your video service application of choice. But now, Sony is testing the waters in certain territories with a new look and additional functions that are intended to make using it more of an interaction spot than before.
With this new redesign, the TV & Video app now connects to services such as Netflix, CrunchyRoll, the WWE Network, Amazon, and of course, the PlayStation Store. You can certainly still navigate to individual apps, but the UI now displays various content from each service on the PlayStation 4 UI level, even organizing content into various themes such as “Movies for Gamers.”
For now, this update is only available in certain territories, likely to gauge usage an effectiveness. This update will launch first in Australia, Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
