Monopoly Meets Mario in Monopoly Gamer

Monopoly Meets Mario in Monopoly Gamer

Over the years, Hasbro has proven time and again that they have their fingers on the hot button franchises in popular culture. Never has this been more apparent than in their versions of the classic Monopoly game. There are different versions of the friendship-ending board game for literally everyone, and now Hasbro is teaming with Nintendo to bring something entirely new.

The newest version is called Monopoly Gamer and it utilizes Nintendo’s most popular franchise. It’s-a Mario! The characters are from Super Mario , but the gameplay has some very Mario Party -esque features. The game board looks like your typical themed Monopoly board, but with Mario characters and familiar sights like green pipes.

The biggest difference between Monopoly Gamer and classic Monopoly is the fact that rather than getting all the money and properties, you’ll be collecting coins and beating levels and bosses. The winner at the end of the game will be determined by whoever has the most points in the end. Another added bonus to Monopoly Gamer is an added die. One dice decides your movement like normal, and the other shows what ability you use. Every character has their own unique ability.

This version of Monopoly will be heading to store shelves in August and should run you $25. There will be other characters, Luigi, Wario, Rosalina, Diddy Kong, and Boo, that you can buy in power packs for $2.99, if you want to add more people to the starting crew of Mario, Peach, Yoshi, and Donkey Kong.
