Sony Removes Game from PSN After Controversy

Sony Removes Game from PSN After Controversy

Quality control issues have been cropping up on the PlayStation Network for a while now, and Sony seems to have finally responded to one of them. It removed a game from the store that seemingly existed solely to give people a free platinum trophy and advertise the creator’s paid PS4 themes.

The game, called “ ★★★★★ 1000 Top Rated ,” costed a whopping $.98 and is merely a collection of unchallenging sliding tile puzzles designed to be easily completed in about 20 minutes. After you do that, the game awards players a platinum trophy. The game doesn’t seem to do anything else outside of advertising the developer’s Facebook page, which sells PlayStation 4 themes.

Once the word got out, Sony removed the game from its service and reportedly told the developer to change the game’s name and remove any mention of trophies from its description. This ostensibly means the game will eventually reappear, but without being able to advertise its sneaky gimmick and draw people to it for the purpose of bumping their trophy numbers.
