Grand Theft Auto Online pops up on our radar pretty often. Most recently, we were talking about it because they were adding some cool stuff for the American Independence Day celebrations happening tomorrow. They also added a brand new mode to spice up online play. Now we’re talking about Grand Theft Auto Online for an entirely different reason.
The series has always been a veritable playground for the modding community, so it should be no real shock that this discovery was made by a modding crew. The group is called Team Guru, and what they discovered is nothing short of extraordinary.
While taking a look at Grand Theft Auto Online ‘s update code, Team Guru found something that would suggest a UFO crashed near Zancudo military base. Once there, they found an alien ship, a bunch of deceased scientists, an alien egg, and some otherworldly creatures. When you dispatch the alien nemesis, you can then take the egg to a bunker. This is the entirety of the hidden mission that Team Guru found, but it could be just a placeholder for something bigger.
Rockstar hasn’t made any mention of this alien mission, so it could be they have a full release of it planned in future updates. For now, you can go check out the UFO and do the short tasks that are there. But keep your eyes open for more potential news on this later!
