Castlevania Showrunner Confirms Assassin’s Creed Anime

Castlevania Showrunner Confirms Assassin’s Creed Anime

Netflix’s Castlevania series premieres this week on July 7. In the wake of that, producer Adi Shankar ( Dredd 3D ) has confirmed one of his next projects. In a similar anime style as Castlevania , Shankar’s next videogame-related work will be on Ubisoft’s massive Assassin’s Creed series.

While this series is obviously based on the Assassin’s Creed games, the story will be original. That’s the only detail provided so far, with Ubisoft having not yet confirmed anything. Generally, Shankar’s side of the entertainment business is less secretive about details than the game industry. Whatever form this Assassin’s Creed anime takes, it’s likely very early in production.

In a statement, Shankar said, “I played the first edition of Assassin’s Creed the year I moved to Los Angeles. At that moment, I knew absolutely no one in the industry and could never have imagined that one day, Ubisoft would ask me to take the world of Assassin’s Creed and create an original anime story set in it as an anime series.”

He also said, “If anyone tells you not to follow your passion in life, they are wrong.” Seeing that in the past few years, the man has brought out new projects based on several nerd-beloved properties, it’s hard to challenge that.
