It goes without saying that Half-Life is still one of the most popular video game franchises of all time. The actual Half-Life games, and adjacent Portal series, have done extremely well throughout the years. Fans have been waiting forever for Half-Life 3 news to come around. Unfortunately, the long wait continues. However, in the meantime there are options!
There’s a Half-Life comic book that’s been around since 2014. It’s only recently seen official release through Steam (last September), but it’s a pretty awesome project. Called Half-Life: A Place in the West , it began life as a fan-made comic that eventually got licensing rights from Valve. Also thanks to that, it was released on Steam.
Half-Life: A Place in the West follows three different characters as they discover and explore a town called New Franklin. It’s a dangerous city under the shadow of the Combine. It’s the source of a group of military commandos who are going across the land kidnapping children. The first two chapters are currently available through Steam. Chapter 3: The Pit will be releasing on July 21.
The storyline sounds intriguing and the art style looks awesome, so it’s well worth it to at least give it a look-see.
