WWE 2K18 Details Provided by Developers

2K Games, publisher of the WWE 2K series (natch), recently held a developer summit to speak on what’s coming in October’s annual entry, WWE 2K18 . Information has been oddly scarce considering how soon the game drops, and that appears to be because a lot of new stuff is coming this year. 2K alleges it has been working for several years on updating the WWE 2K experience based on feedback since 2K Games has taken over the license. Japanese developer Yuke’s is still involved, but Visual Concepts has been collaborating since the shift.

WWE 2K18 will have a hugely changed visual style, new modes, a new MyCareer structure, more stuff in the character creation mode, new structural shifts in Universe more, intergender wrestling, 8-Man matches, and a lot more. If everything 2K is claiming is substantially true, this could be an extremely different experience from WWE 2K17 , which had a relatively lukewarm reception.

The WWE 2K games have been struggling since moving to the current generation, struggling with a lack of content and feature depth compared to the games of last generation. The bump in visual fidelity seemed to be a tradeoff for content, and many fans were turned off. While 2K points to an annual release schedule as a reason for the slow rate of catching up, this new suite of features has supposedly been in development in the background for multiple years.
