Who here played Tekken Tag Tournament on the PlayStation 2 back in the day? And by back in the day I mean the year 2000, which seems so far away and yet so close at the same time… Okay, I see a smattering of hands up in the air! Those of you waving ’em around like you just don’t care: do you remember Tekken Bowl? The extra mode existed in Tekken Tag Tournament and had players taking control of the familiar characters in a bowling mini-game.
It was a goofy addition to the Tekken series, but one that clearly stuck with fans, because here it goes again! Tekken 7 is getting a DLC this August called Ultimate Tekken Bowl. For those that were fans of the original, get ready to feel the waves of nostalgia. Ultimate Tekken Bowl for Tekken 7 is basically the same thing as Tekken Bowl from Tekken Tag Tournament . There are of course new characters that weren’t around in 2000, and there’s prettier, more modern graphics.
I’ll reiterate again that the DLC isn’t heading to consoles and PCs until August, so in the meantime you’d do well to beef up your bowling skills. And while you’re doing that, check out the trailer for Ultimate Tekken Bowl , it’s pretty awesome.
