Overwatch fans, at least those playing on PC, are now able to jump into the Public Test Region to test out Doomfist. The villain is the newest addition to the roster of heroes.
Doomfist is an offensive hero who uses an enormous gauntlet and knuckle-mounted shotguns for fast, close range combat. He has a Rocket Punch ability as his alternate fire that can sent him flying across the map, and a fun-sounding ability set that includes Seismic Slam, Rising Uppercut and Best Defense. His ultimate ability is Meteor Strike, which allows Doomfist to select a spot on the map to cause a damaging shockwave that knocks surrounding characters down.
Blizzard has been teasing Doomfist in its lore-based blog, setting up his backstory as a leader of Talon who has been serving time in prison. He has since been broken out and has joined to cast of the game to presumably cause a handful of trouble. Blizzard has posted a Developer Update introducing the character’s background and skillset, as well as an origin story video.
