Rainbow Six Siege Brings in the Loot with Alpha Packs

Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six Siege Operation Health is still plowing along with yet another update. This is an overall decision and effort to improve the player experience in the game that has delayed the Hong Kong and South Korean seasons, as well as canceled the Poland season.

There have been many tweaks that have been made throughout the course of it.. For example, Hibana’s X-Kairos weapon pellets no longer appear stuck to walls after they detonate. The pellets also don’t concentrate in a super small area at times any more. There have also been a few map changes. Like Coastline’s walls were rebuilt from scratch, since they couldn’t be destroyed correctly.

The biggest change introduced in title update 2.1.1 of Rainbow Six Siege however, is the introduction of loot boxes. Ubisoft calls them Alpha Packs and they’re going to be introduced over time across platforms. The publisher is supposedly rolling them out this way in order to have the most stable integration possible. One Alpha Pack will be given to everyone free when they are available on your system. These will include past cosmetics and Legendary tier items exclusively available to the loot boxes.

Rainbow Six Siege is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Ubisoft didn’t list specific dates for the Alpha Box releases on each system, but they’re sure to announce it when they can. Keep an eye out for these optional extras!
