Insomniac’s PS4-exclusive Spider-Man was one of the hottest games of E3 2017. It also looks to be one of the biggest video game releases of the year when it hits in 2018. And by biggest, I mean literally the size of the game. (Sure, it will probably sell a lot of copies too).
For some reason, a fan on Twitter asked Insomniac how big Spider-Man’s New York City will be “compared to the Witcher 3 map.” Insomniac opted to reply, despite not being the developers of Witcher 3 and therefore probably having no access to the size or structure of that game’s world.
Spider-Man’s official social media rep said, “That's not a comparison we can really make. It's several times larger than Sunset City was tho.” Sunset City refers to Insomniac’s previous open-world action game, the Xbox One-exclusive Sunset Overdrive. That was a pretty huge game of course, so “several times” is a pretty impressive claim.
