Nintendo Says “No!” to Rage-Quitters in Splatoon 2

Nintendo Says “No!” to Rage-Quitters in Splatoon 2

Are you one of those types that enters an online game, checks out the competition, and leaves if they are at too high or low of a level for you? Do you rage-quit in the middle of a match when someone is using a battle tactic that you don’t entirely agree with? Do you have anger issues? Well, Nintendo is going to smack your rage button pretty hard. If you don’t comply with them, you’ll be out of luck when playing Splatoon 2 .

The upcoming paint-splattering shooter is set to release July 21 on the Switch, to much fanfare. But some members of the Splatoon 2 beta this past weekend noticed something interesting. A message pops up when you exit a match early for any reason. To boil it down, the message basically draws attention to the fact that you left early, and how that’s kind of weird. It recommends you check your Internet to make sure that isn’t the problem.

Basically, if you leave matches in Splatoon 2 early for whatever reason, you can be subject to being blocked from the game for a period of time. There’s no indicator yet for how long that time period would be. It’s clear that Nintendo is taking a hard stance against rage-quitting from the get-go though, so beware!
