Patapon Remastered Coming to PS4 in August

The game remaster fans of Sony’s 2D rhythm/platformer/god game hybrid Patapon have been eagerly awaiting for nearly a year is finally coming. Patapon Remastered is listed on the PlayStation Store with a nearby release date of August 1. Get ready to remember those pata-pata-pata-pon rhythms!

Patapon Remastered will set you back $14.99. Users who pre-order the game ahead of time will get PlayStation Network avatars of Kibapon, Tatepon, Warrior, Yaripon and Yumipon for their troubles. PlayStation Plus members will also get a 20% discount for pre-ordering.

Patapon Remastered was announced at last year’s PlayStation Experience event, alongside the previously released PaRappa the Rapper Remastered . This version of the game will support 1080p visuals, or up to 4K when playing on PlayStation 4 Pro. Just like PaRappa , this will be a digital-only.

Patapon was originally a PlayStation Portable title, released in North America back in February 2008. It was one of the most widely well-received PSP exclusives, garnering two sequels throughout the life of the platform.
