Atari Reveals Its Speakerhat

Atari Reveals Its Speakerhat

Atari as a company has been around for a long time. (And been mismanaged for a long time.) When Frederic Chesnais bought Atari, he had plans to bring it back to its former glory. The chief concern he had was to bring Atari back not only as a game developer, but a hardware company. This makes sense, considering the recent announcements regarding the Ataribox. But the new console isn’t the only hardware Atari has been looking into though. It is also looking at hats.

Today, Atari revealed the Speakerhats. These are baseball hats with the Atari logo on them and speakers underneath the brim. These hats can connect to any Bluetooth devices, and there’s also a “multiplayer mode.” When put into this mode, multiple hats can play music from the same device. You’ll be able to take a closer look at the Speakerhat at San Diego Comic-Con.

Atari will hold a beta test of the hats via a sweepstakes on their website. If you’re chosen for the beta, you’ll get a Speakerhat, Atari t-shirt, Atari Flashback compilation for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, and of course the ability to participate in the beta test program. There’s also a special Blade Runner 2049 Speakerhat that will be coming out this fall.

Are you going to try to be in the Speakerhat beta test?
