PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Pays Homage to Battle Royale

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Pays Homage to Battle Royale

If you’ve been playing PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds , then get your butt back in the game! There’s a customization system that will be integrated into the game as soon as it fully releases (some time this year hopefully). However, right now you can get your hands on some skins to customize your character!

The skins awesomely, and maybe not surprisingly, enough, are inspired by the Battle Royale film. They will be in the game starting August 3 after a PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds official update. Two of the Battle Royale cosmetic crates will be free to open; they’re called the Wander Crate, and Survivor Crate. You can get these as soon as the update goes live and open them with in-game points. A third crate will only be opened with a key that costs $2.50. This one is called the Gamescom Invitational Crate.

If you guessed that these are the vanity items we mentioned yesterday , you’d be correct! The sales from the Gamescom Invitational Crate will go to organizing the event, a number of charities, and of course it will go to the prize pool. The Gamescom PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Invitational prize will be $350,000.

Check out PlayerUnknown’s post on Battlegrounds ‘ Steam page for photos of the other costumes you can potentially get in the Gamescom Invitational Crate. They’re pretty epic, if you’re already a fan of Battle Royale . If not, they’re still awesome.
