Super Meat Boy Coming to Nintendo Switch

Super Meat Boy Coming to Nintendo Switch

In cheeky fashion, Team Meat has revealed the classic indie platformer Super Meat Boy is headed to the Nintendo Switch. Team Meat sent the word out via Twitter, with a nice photo of the game running on the platform in handheld mode. Team Meat confirmed in subsequent Tweets that this is the original version of the game, in response to a fan asking if this was the original or Super Meat Boy Forever .

Also confirmed was the developer working on the port, which is BlitWorks. BlitWorks is a studio responsible for many ports of popular games, including Don’t Starve , Axiom Verge , FEZ , Broken Age , Spelunky and more. Basically, it is a company filled with people that know what they are doing.

Super Meat Boy was one of the huge, breakout indie releases on the Xbox Live Arcade, originally released in 2010 to enormous success. Edmund McMillen would go on to create other huge games such as The Binding of Isaac and, most recently, The End is Nigh. Both of those games are either on Switch or coming to Switch in some form, by the way.
