Madden NFL 18 Needs Update for 4K and HDR

Madden NFL 18 Needs Update for 4K and HDR

Madden NFL 18 , like many other big games, will have PlayStation 4 Pro support. But in this case, Madden NFL 18 will not ship with that functionality out of the box. According to EA, the game’s eventual PlayStation 4 Pro functions will require updating the base software.

In an interview with US Gamer, Madden director Rex Dickson confirmed that PlayStation 4 support, which presumably includes 4K and HDR, will come in a future update. What this means is anyone’s guess. This statement was in response to a question about the review build of Madden NFL 18 , which is out in the wild several days before the game’s August 25 launch date.

In theory, updates can come any time between now and launch. But the PS4 Pro support could also come any time after that. Madden NFL 18 was shown running on the Xbox One X in 4K at E3, so there is evidence of the game’s ability to run at that resolution. Hopefully, it won’t take too long to get it looking great on every platform.
