Microsoft is going into the final phase of their Xbox One X marketing push before the console releases on November 7. This includes pushing their “Xbox One X enhancements” program. These are updates that are going to become available for games to bring them up to true Xbox One X quality. Crystal Dynamics teamed up with Microsoft to give Rise of the Tomb Raider the full treatment.
Most of the enhancements will of course be to the visuals of Rise of the Tomb Raider , but they’re pretty impressive. 4K and HDR displays will be available for the game, as that is the Xbox One X’s biggest feature. Rise of the Tomb Raider will highlight this by including three different visual modes. Players will choose from “Native 4K,” “Enriched Visuals,” or “High Frame Rate.” Better textures will be visible in the game, with more realistic foliage, reflections and lighting. The anti-aliasing has also been improved. Another awesome update that isn’t in the visual sphere is spatial audio support that will provide “true 3D audio.”
If you’re thinking of getting an Xbox One X this November 7 and you already own Rise of the Tomb Raider on Xbox One, you’ll be able to enjoy these enhancements. The day that the new console releases also marks the day Rise of the Tomb Raider ‘s enhancements will be downloadable.
