Nintendo and PayPal have teamed up to some degree, which now allows Nintendo Switch owners to use PayPal as a form of payment for purchases from the Nintendo eShop. This update is for customers in the United States and Canada. It not only applies to the on-system storefront, but Nintendo’s online store as well. The option will appear alongside credit cards and eShop cards when checking out, and first-timers will need to then link their PayPal accounts with their Nintendo accounts.
Doing this will also enable PayPal for use for Wii U and 3DS purchases, albeit only through the Nintendo website. In order to link accounts, users need to be 18 or older, and the country on their Nintendo account needs to match that of their PayPal account.
