Shovel Knight amiibo and No More Heroes Collaboration Coming

Shovel Knight amiibo and No More Heroes Collaboration Coming

Shovel Knight fans have a couple of fun pieces of news today, in addition to the already announced final DLC campaign, King of Cards. Not only are fans getting more amiibo figures to join the original Shovel Knight , but the DNA of Shovel Knight will soon be clashing with the world of No More Heroes .

First, the amiibo figures. A new three-pack is coming out featuring the leads of each Shovel Knight expansion: Plague Knight, Specter Knight, and King Knight. Scanning these amiibo in the 3DS, Wii U, or Switch versions of Shovel Knight unlock new, cosmetic-only armor sets for the respective character. The amiibo also unlock new challenges and fairy companions in the game. A release date for these has not been announced, but it’s probably safe to expect them by the time King of Cards comes out in 2018.

Also, according to a report from US Gamer , Shovel Knight developer Yacht Club Games is also involved in Suda 51’s No More Heroes: Travis Strikes Back . Rather than a third core entry in the No More Heroes series, Travis Strikes Back sees Travis Touchdown sucked into an evil video game console. He has to fight his way through various games to get back home, and each of these games is a collaboration between Grasshopper Manufacture and an indie developer. Shovel Knight ’s Yacht Club Games joins Hotline Miami ’s Dennation Games as one of the two known participants.
