Middle-Earth Shadow of War’s 3 Special Editions Detailed

Middle-Earth: Shadow of War is getting ever closer to its August 22 release date for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. If you’re a fan of Lord of the Rings , you’ll want to check this one out. If you played Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor and want to see an updated version of the stuff you loved in that title, you’ll want to check out Shadow of War as well.

No matter why you want to play Middle-Earth: Shadow of War , the big question is whether or not you want to pre-order. If you decide that you do want to, you’ve got lots of choices. At the least you’ll get two bonuses if you pre-order: Legendary Champions War Party and Epic Sword of Dominion. Those two bonuses will come with the standard edition from Amazon ($48 with Amazon Prime), Best Buy ($48 with Gamers Club Unlocked), GameStop, the Microsoft Store, the PlayStation Store, Steam, Target, and Walmart.

If you want to get a little fancier with your copy of Shadow of War , there’s a Silver and Gold Edition available from various retailers. The Silver Edition is around $80 and includes two expansions (Slaughter Tribe Nemesis and Outlaw Tribe Nemesis), as well as a silver war chest. The expansions introduce a new Orc Tribe that will bring new enemies, followers, missions, abilities, weapons, and a mythic gear set to your game. You’ll also get more fortress and wilderness updates. The Gold Edition of Shadow of War includes the two expansions from the Silver Edition as well as The Blade of Galadriel Story Expansion, The Desolation of Mordor Story Expansion, and a gold war chest.

Those who aren’t content with digital extras can certainly spend some more money at GameStop on the Middle-Earth: Shadow of War Mithril Edition. This will include everything from the Gold Edition as well as a 12” Tar-Goroth Balrog vs. Carnan Drake Statue, a collection of lithographs, a premium case with magnetic Ring of Power, a steelcase, the game soundtrack, a cloth map of Mordor, a tribes sticker pack, and an exclusive mithril war chest.

There’s one other bundle you can get for Middle-Earth: Shadow of War that is purchasable from GameStop called the “My Precious” bundle. For $120 you’ll get the game, as well as a replica of the One Ring. If you just want the Ring, it’ll be available separately for $20.

With all these options, it’s hard to turn down a pre-order for Middle-Earth: Shadow of War ! Here’s hoping it takes everything we loved from Shadow of Mordor and expands on it in the best ways.
