This week’s Nintendo Direct had a particularly big focus on Monolith Software’s epic JRPG sequel, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 . Details were given on the game’s world and characters in lengthy segments, and Nintendo also announced a release date and special edition SKU. A surprise in the form of a new Nintendo Switch Pro Controller design was also announced.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will be making its debut on the Nintendo Switch just in time for the holidays, landing on December 1, 2017. The game will be even more expansive than the first game, showing multiple Titans and the different civilizations that live on and/or in them. The different races and characters are introduced in the Direct, giving brief insight into the capital L Lore.
A special edition of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will be available. It comes in a special box of course, which contains a Steelbook version of the game, a “sound selection” CD, and a hardcover, 220-page art book. A new SKU of the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller was also revealed, with pink handles and Xenoblade art on the face of the controller itself. The special edition will retail for $100, and the pro controller will be $75.
