Minecraft on 3DS Will Not Have Cross-Play

Minecraft on 3DS Will Not Have Cross-Play

Some of the biggest news to come out of Nintendo’s September Direct was the announcement of Minecraft on the New 3DS. Fans were excited at the chance to finally play their favorite title on a system that they really enjoy. Having a new way to play is always fantastic. Since the announcement, some smaller details about Minecraft: New Nintendo 3DS Edition have come to light.

As it turns out, Minecraft: New Nintendo 3DS Edition is essentially the same as the 0.15.4 build of Minecraft: Pocket Edition . This New 3DS version was created specifically for the handheld. However, it is a little disturbing to know that a mobile version would be much cheaper. Also important to know, but possibly not readily understandable, is that this version of Minecraft is only for the New 3DS. So when grandma wants to buy this new game for the kiddies, make sure she understands the difference between 3DS and New 3DS.

One other big update, as far as Minecraft: New Nintendo 3DS Edition is concerned, is that it won’t have the “Better Together Update.” This update is coming to all mobile and not-PlayStation console versions of Minecraft to allow for cross-play. This New 3DS version will be partying alone though, due to it being a specific build.

Will you be getting Minecraft: New Nintendo 3DS Edition ?
