DOOM on Switch is Epic, Thanks to Panic Button

DOOM on Switch is Epic, Thanks to Panic Button

The Internet is ablaze with footage of DOOM playing on Nintendo Switch systems. If you didn’t think the hype was real before, then it’s time to take a second look. While it will undoubtedly be compared to its other versions, DOOM on Switch is still fantastic. I’m not just talking about the gameplay either. The addition of DOOM on the Switch should pave the way for more adult games on the Nintendo console.

The people behind the Switch version of DOOM are all from a company called Panic Button. It would appear this is a name that is well worth keeping on your radar. Not only have they made the glorious DOOM on Switch, Panic Button is also porting Rocket League .

Panic Button’s team members have worked on some pretty awesome titles over the years. Their combined experience from other companies includes Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic , Mass Effect , Metroid Prime , Oddworld: Abe’s Exoddus , Turok , Ultima Online , and NBA Jam . This company in particular has been around since 2007 and hails from the land of Austin, Texas. They want to work on original IP projects ( see Astro Duel Deluxe ), but they also specialize in ports.

Here’s hoping we see more from Panic Button in the future. Not only because they clearly know what they’re doing, but because Nintendo seems much more willing to have third-party ports this time around.
