Pokemon games are all but known nowadays for their free giveaways via various means. There are almost constant free Pokemon available from GameStop locations and other venues. Most recently, there are free Pikachus available from the official website. Now there’s another brand new Pokemon to collect. This time around, you can get a Celebi.
Celebi has been given away a few times before, but this is the first time it’s available in Pokemon Sun and Moon and the upcoming Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon . Celebi is obtained by purchasing Pokemon Gold or Silver in the 3DS eShop. After the purchase, you’ll have to do a little hunting to get your code. It’ll be located in the 3DS eShop under Settings/Other. Click on your Account Activity and look for the receipt for Pokemon Gold or Silver . At the very bottom, you’ll find your Celebi code.
The process doesn’t stop there, as you’ll have to copy down your code and then launch whatever game you want the Pokemon to end up in. Go to the Mystery Gift section of the game’s menu and choose the code option. Once you’ve entered your code, you’ll find Celebi waiting for you at any Pokemon Center via the deliveryman. Celebi can be added to Pokemon Sun or Moon right now, but if you’d like it in Pokemon Ultra Sun or Ultra Moon , you’ll have to wait until those games release in November. The Celebi you’ll receive will be level 30. It is a grass/psychic type and arrives knowing Heal Bell, Safeguard, Ancient Power, and Future Sight.
You have until September 21, 2018 to buy Pokemon Gold or Silver to get the Celebi. So if you can’t justify the purchase right now, you do have time. Celebi’s code has to be redeemed before October 31, 2018 in order to receive it.
