Survival Mode Coming to Skyrim Special Edition

Survival Mode Coming to Skyrim Special Edition

A big, new mode is coming to Skyrim Special Edition. It is a Creation Club addition! This is a new survival mode, and it’s currently being beta tested for PCs on Steam. Players can simply opt-in to gain access. It will also be free on all platforms when fully available.

Per a Bethesda blog post announcing the mod, Skyrim ’s survival mode will “transform Skyrim into a land of unrelenting cold and harsh wilderness.” The mode adds several new concerns for the player across all difficulties, making even navigating the game’s world a challenge.

Skyrim ’s survival mode will incorporate hunger, stamina, cold, and disease into this much more hardcore experience. Boons that generally aid the player will also be removed, such as fast travel and health regeneration. Players will have to consider warmth, food, carry weight, and even money more than ever before or for the first time, depending on how they originally played the game.

If you play Skyrim on console or don’t care to opt into the beta test, the survival mode will go live for everyone sometime next month.
