Resident Evil 2 Board Game Kickstarted

Resident Evil 2 Board Game Kickstarted

On Monday, Steamforged games, the creators of the Dark Souls board game, launched a new Kickstarter campaign. What for? Why, a new board game based on the legendary Resident Evil 2 . The initial goal was $201,584, which seems like a lot, but the game is rather large. That goal was smashed, and in less than a week later has already doubled that total.

The Resident Evil 2 board game, or Resident Evil 2: The Board Game if we want to be dorks (and we totally do), is a co-op game for 1-4 players. The core game comes with Leon Kennedy, Claire Redfield, Ada Wong, and Robert Kendo. Sherry Birkin is one of the unlocked stretch goals, and there other characters yet to be “unlocked.” Steamforged alleges over 20 hours of gameplay right out of the box, as players will work together to survive various scenarios.

The Kickstarter is simple, with a single contribution tier that comes with the base game and an initial expansion. However, backers can also add other goodies a la carte. These include additional enemy figures and a set of cards using the original art assets from Resident Evil 2 .
