Rocket League Autumn Update Goes Down on the Farm

Rocket League Autumn Update Goes Down on the Farm

Rocket League is getting ready for fall with its Autumn update. Psyonix has added all kinds of cool stuff to the game, least of which includes a brand new arena. “Farmstead” boasts a quaint midwestern-esque farm with adorable little cows. This is playable right now on all playlists as a seasonal arena.

As promised, Wasteland and Starbase ARC have been converted to standard arenas. The previous versions are now called Badlands and ARCtagon and are only available in Rumble, private matches and offline. Three other arenas have been adapted to include either a daytime or snowy version. The Rocket League team has also added a whopping 90 new free items to drops and trade-ins.

Other big additions include player banners. These are being given out as rewards for the competitive Season Five. You can also get them as common items after a match. Online matches and the trade-in system could drop rare or very rare player banners. Some of these have animated backgrounds, while others you can change to whatever color you’d like.

The other big additions to Rocket League via this Autumn update are transparent goalposts, a director camera, and local matches (for the PC version). The goalposts (and some of the walls) within the game will now automatically become transparent when necessary to see the ball. You can toggle these off within the game’s settings if you’d like. The director camera is a new feature for spectator mode. It’s essentially a smart camera that will pick and choose the best angles for you to get the prime viewing of the action. Last, but certainly not least, local matches have been added to the Steam version of Rocket League so you can gather all your friends for LAN parties offline!

Which addition are you most excited about?
