Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite has generally been accepted by the fighting games community, but not without some caveats. The general consensus is the core game mechanics are bringing people in, but the presentation is sorely lacking. This especially includes the soundtrack, which is a far departure from the usual upbeat and creative Marvel vs. Capcom identity. Some fans took it upon themselves to create a mod for Infinite that replaces much of the music with tracks from the previous game’s more well-received score.
The mod, which can be found on YouTube, overwrites the existing files and replaces them where applicable. Obviously there are characters in Infinite that are not present in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, but returning characters have their old themes. The menu music has also been replaced with the previous game’s.
Additionally, the mod also addresses an audio balance issue native to Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite. The mod makes all the music the same volume, which is not the case normally. This largely changes the audio during actual matches.
