While we’re still anxiously awaiting in-game footage of Hellboy, new character announcements for the next character pack are starting for NetherRealm’s Injustice 2 . To start off the Fighter Pack 3, due to begin in December, The Atom was announced during the Chasing the Cup special on the CW.
The Atom is a longtime DC Universe character who can control the size of his body down to a molecular level. This ability is actively a part of his fighting style in Injustice 2 , and we see the character zipping around the screen in his introduction trailer. Much of his movement seems to be propelled by shrinking, so it will be interesting to see how defending and punishing works, or if these animations have any special properties at all.
The trailer doesn’t really offer a glimpse at The Atom’s more extravagant techniques, but we do get a look at his visually impressive entrance, which shows him bouncing around on actual atoms before growing to normal size and entering the fight. He looks pretty impressive!
