Dragon Ball FighterZ Adds Nappa and Captain Ginyu

Dragon Ball FighterZ Adds Nappa and Captain Ginyu

The latest issue of V-Jump in Japan comes with a bunch of new information about Dragon Ball FighterZ , as has been the trend leading up to the anticipated game’s release. This time, two more new characters have been announced and new details have been provided about the story mode. Additionally, the Japanese release date has also been revealed.

Joining to the Dragon Ball FighterZ roster are Nappa and Captain Ginyu. Nappa has the intriguing ability to summon Saibamen, as well as his “Kappa!” technique. Captain Ginyu has his infamous Body Change move that will do exactly that, swapping characters and HP with the opponent. He can also summon other members of the Ginyu force.

Structural details have also been revealed for the story mode. In this mode, the player will have a “spiritual link” with characters, likely meaning the fourth wall is broken a bit. Or it could just be an odd translation meaning the player will control specific characters at points in the story. Maybe both! Interacting with characters can also reveal extra scenes and dialogue as bonds are developed. Story mode will also see different options presented to the player as far as how to spend their time, gain exp, and acquire new skills.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is set to release in Japan on February 1, 2018. The US release date is still “early 2018.” Europe shares a February window with Japan, albeit without the specific day as of this writing.
