Nintendo Switch System Updated to Version 4.0.0

Nintendo Switch System Updated to Version 4.0.0

The Nintendo Switch’s latest firmware update brings the system up to version 4.0.0, a new full number. This update brings significant new features to the system, including limited video capture and some data transferring capabilities. The bullet point list includes video capture for select games, new profile icons, user profile and save data transfer and pre-order options for the Nintendo eShop.

The video capture, for now, lets users apture and share up to 30 seconds of video footage natively for Breath of the Wild , Mario Kart 8 Deluxe , ARMS and Splatoon 2 . Super Mario Odyssey will also support the feature. You can trim the video, then share it to Twitter or Facebook. Word on the street is this is more of a test, and more expansive options will be added in the future.

The new profile icons are from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey . A total of 12 have been added to the available options. The transfer option allows users to transfer their user and save data from one Switch to another. There are limitations, such as both units needing to be updated to 4.0.0, a limited number of total user profiles, and of course, the data vanishing from the original console.

Beyond the major changes, other little tweaks have been made to improve system performance and usability, especially in some of the Wi-Fi settings. The News Channel has also received a visual facelift.
