GTA V Missed Story DLC Because of Red Dead Redemption 2

Grand Theft Auto V has been wildly successful as an online multiplayer game, thanks to Grand Theft Auto Online, but single-player fans have felt left out. Rockstar Games made statements recently that fully explain why Grand Theft Auto V hasn’t seen more single-player downloadable content and why it won’t in the future.

The people over at Rockstar seemed like they had made a shift away from single-player games when it came to Grand Theft Auto V . The online content became much more important than any new story releases. According to the director at Rockstar, Imran Sarwar, the team really believed that Grand Theft Auto V’ s single-player was already expansive. He mentioned it being like three games in one. That’s part of the reason why Rockstar never made any moves to add more single-player content. They figured there was enough there already from the start.

The lack of additional single-player content was also due to the development of Red Dead Redemption 2 . The team is self-admittedly full of perfectionists, so they want to make sure all of their games are as good as they can be. With a large part of the company focused on making the single-player story content in Red Dead Redemption 2 , Grand Theft Auto V fell to the wayside.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is set to release sometime in the spring of 2018. It’s at that time we’ll be able to see all the hard work that took away from Grand Theft Auto V .. Do you think there should have been more story content in Grand Theft Auto V ? Or do you feel the single-player parts of were enough already?
