Nintendo Announces Animal Crossing Pocket Camp

Nintendo Announces Animal Crossing Pocket Camp

After months and months of delays and speculation, it’s almost here. We now know what Nintendo’s mobile Animal Crossing project is. It’s called Animal Crossing Pocket Camp , and it pretty much looks like a full-on Animal Crossing game with some mobile-like adjustments.

In the game, instead of the usual home-owning and town-running, you get to build what appears to be a communal campground. A new crafting system is introduced, with which players can gather ingredients to make new stuff instead of grinding money to buy daily items in stores. This of course comes with cooldowns, which can be reduced via in-app purchases.

Other features include buying and decorating a camper vehicle for your character, and of course a bunch of social features including the ability to make friends and visit each other’s campsites. Everything on display during the Nintendo Direct event looked like normal Animal Crossing , from catching fish and bugs to hitting rocks with a shovel. A few new tools, like a fishing net, were also introduced.

Animal Crossing Pocket Camp will have its worldwide release for both iOS and Android this November. (Unless you’re an iOS or Android user in Australia, where the game has actually soft-launched already.)
