We're just a few short days away from the Call of Duty: World War II release date. Here's yet another small part of the game that has been leaked. One Reddit user (cuzseile) uploaded a video to the Call of Duty: WWII subreddit that shows how loot crates/supply drops/loot boxes (whatever you want to call them) work.
You're probably wondering why in the hell this is news, but the video is actually pretty cool. Apparently, you open loot crates in the social area of the game that is located on Normandy beach circa three days after D-Day. Up to 48 players can be active in the social space at one time. While there, if you have a loot crate to open, you find a clear space and toss down some sort of flair. When that's done your loot crate (supply drop) will come crashing down from the sky. It'll pop open, and out will burst three cards.
An interesting factor to understand is that the other players on Normandy beach will be able to see what your cards show. They won't be able to steal the loot crate or cards from you, just view them. It's not entirely clear yet whether you need to go through this animation every single time you want to open a loot crate. There might be a simpler way to do it via the website or mobile app. Or perhaps players will even have the option to skip the animation if they'd like. Either way, it's a pretty cool looking instance of a rather mundane task within games.
