ToeJam and Earl: Back in the Groove Delayed

ToeJam and Earl: Back in the Groove Delayed

Anyone who’s been alive since the early 90’s has probably at least heard of ToeJam and Earl . Those even more in the know will probably have played one of the games, from the original to ToeJam and Earl III: Mission to Earth . More recently, there was a Kickstarter campaign in 2015 to attempt to bring the cult classic characters back to life.

The title that was successfully Kickstarted with $500,000 is called ToeJam and Earl: Back in the Groove . Developers Humanature Studios teamed up with Adult Swim to get the game out to fans in 2017. As it turns out, they will fall a little short of this goal. Super fans will be disappointed to know that ToeJam and Earl: Back in the Groove has been delayed to 2018.

The developers, Adult Swim, released a tongue in cheek trailer for the game that displays the new release window. It shows a little bit of gameplay and some cinematics, all covered with the popular overly dramatic “in a world” style voice over. The cofounder of the development studio Humanature Studios, Greg Johnson, says that he and the team are working incredibly hard to make sure they put out the most quality game for fans.

So while ToeJam and Earl: Back in the Groove may not be releasing in 2017, it’ll hopefully lead to a much more polished product in 2018.
