Super Mario Odyssey Exploit Kills Mario

Super Mario Odyssey Exploit Kills Mario

Super Mario Odyssey is still doing incredibly well and looking like one of the best games of 2017. Players are reveling in the newest iteration and enjoying the unique capture mechanic that Super Mario Odyssey has introduced. It would seem that some are experimenting with the mechanic even more than others. One Twitter user, DefinitivNichtSascha, discovered that you can accidentally kill off Mario if you aren’t careful.

Granted, the process to kill him is pretty complicated, so the chances of it happening accidentally to someone are pretty small. It is an interesting little bug that you can play around with, if you’d like. To start, you need to be playing in two player mode. You then have to capture a Piranha Plant with Cappy. Feed it a rock, and you’ll then have control of Cappy floating around through the air. Attack yourself (the Piranha Plant) and you’ll findit kills Mario. Cappy will float endlessly through the air until you reload a previous checkpoint, which pops out a brand new Mario body for you.

It’s pretty difficult to achieve this bug by accident, so it’s anyone’s guess as to whether Nintendo will take the time to patch it or not. In the meantime, you can hop into a two player match and play around with Piranha Plants! Here’s hoping Mario doesn’t suffer any ill effects from repeated body loss and reincarnation!
