Newest Nintendo Switch Patch Aimed at Joy-Cons

Newest Nintendo Switch Patch Aimed at Joy-Cons

The Nintendo Switch has been out for almost a year now. It’s sales have been through the roof, and that’s only going to continue going up as the holiday season arrives. So it’s only right that Nintendo continues to improve the system where they can, right? The most recent update for the Nintendo Switch brings it to version 4.1.0. It doesn’t have anything super drastic contained within it, besides updates to the Joy-Cons.

The Nintendo Switch’s motion controllers can be a bit unwieldy, according to some people. The option doesn’t really exist yet to play all games on the Nintendo Switch without using the Joy-Cons. Many, including Super Mario Odyssey, require motion controls for specific actions in-game. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is another such title. When games require the use of motion controls, they better be working at their best. (We don’t want another Fable: The Journey on our hands right?)

The Switch 4.1.0 update should make Joy-Cons a little bit better. Nintendo says it fixes a problem with the Joy-Cons not responding properly. There’s really not much information given past that single sentence. Hopefully it’s a fix that is more obvious in practice, rather than on paper. Get over to your Nintendo Switch systems now, and let us know in the comments  if you can see any improvements!
