PUBG Q&A Suggests More Cosmetic Loot Boxes

PUBG Q&A Suggests More Cosmetic Loot Boxes

The next big thing for Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds is the desert map, set to be fully revealed at the Game Awards this week. But that’s not the only thing coming to PUBG as it approaches console release and eventually full release. During a Q&A session at Korean event G-Star Global Game Exhibition, developer Bluehole CEO Changham Kim had a few more details about what to expect form PUBG in the future.

The first topic covered was loot boxes, because of course it was. Kim said that Bluehole will “never” have anything in place in the microtransaction arena that will intersect with gameplay. However, he also said that there is high demand for some sort of cosmetic implementation. Once the game officially launches, cosmetic loot may be added to PUBG sometime after that.

Another interesting tidbit is that PUBG may see some sort of tutorial mode in the future. While Kim said that going in blind is part of the deliberate experience of PUBG , once again player demand is a factor here. He said that many fans have requested a tutorial or firing range-type mode, and again after the official launch, that feature is something Bluehole will start developing plans for.
