PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is officially releasing on December 20, 2017, but leading up to that day, 1.0 test servers will remain live. The original plan was for the servers to be taken down and restarted. PlayerUnknown announced via Twitter that this will not be happening now. The test servers will stay up, and players will be able to enjoy them all the way until the December 20 launch date.
Periods of down-time will of course still happen as the test servers are patched. One in particular is most likely due to happen soon, as the other relevant PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds news today involves its test servers. Twitter apparently blew up this past weekend over one very small detail in the test servers. That detail is in fact a dreaded camel toe. Oh no! Color me unimpressed, but players started noticing that a new female character model showed off her genitalia through some tight underwear.
All of the Twitter hubbub even led to a response from PlayerUnknown himself. He passed the blame onto an apparent outsourced person working on the game. Supposedly this character model was ancient in development terms (two years old) and somehow found its way into the most recent test servers. PlayerUnknown assured the Internet that the camel toe-depicting model would be swapped out in a future update.
